Gay Paris Proposal

The guide

The best places to propose in Paris.

Paris offers more proposal settings than any one couple could need — rooftops above its oldest quarters, a river that puts every landmark in a single frame, gardens that stood before the Revolution. Here is where we propose most often, and why each place suits a different kind of moment. Every location below is paired with a package we have built specifically around it.

Le Marais, Paris

4th arrondissement

Le Marais

Paris' historic Marais quarter has been the heart of gay Paris for decades — cobbled lanes, hidden courtyards, and rooftop terraces stacked above centuries-old buildings. It's an emotionally resonant place to propose for exactly that reason: the neighborhood itself is part of the story. Rooftops here catch the last light of the day, close enough to feel like home, private enough that the moment stays entirely yours.

Trocadéro & the Eiffel Tower, Paris

16th arrondissement

Trocadéro & the Eiffel Tower

No skyline says ‘Paris’ faster than the Eiffel Tower, and a private terrace at Trocadéro puts it directly in front of you without the crowds gathered at its base. It's the classic choice for couples who want the moment instantly recognizable in every photo — and after dark, the Tower's hourly light show can be timed to the exact second you ask.

The Seine, Paris

Riverside, central Paris

The Seine

Seen from the water, Paris rearranges itself — bridges arch overhead, floodlit facades slide past, and the city's landmarks appear one after another without you having to walk between them. A private boat charter removes the rest of the equation: no other passengers, no schedule but your own, and a route choreographed so the question lands exactly as the Eiffel Tower comes into view.

Montmartre, Paris

18th arrondissement

Montmartre

Above the crowds gathered at Sacré-Cœur, Montmartre still holds pockets of quiet — ivy-covered courtyards, narrow staircases, and gardens few tourists ever find. It's the most intimate of Paris' proposal settings: no grand landmark, no skyline, just string lights, candlelight, and the two of you in a corner of the city that feels made for that alone.

Palais Royal, Paris

1st arrondissement

Palais Royal

Before the day's first visitors arrive, the Palais Royal gardens are almost eerily still — Daniel Buren's striped columns catching the early light, the clipped lime trees, the arcades empty. Proposing here, over a breakfast picnic beneath the colonnades, means opening the day with the question rather than closing it.

The Louvre, Paris

1st arrondissement, Cour Napoléon

The Louvre

By mid-morning, the Louvre's glass pyramid is one of the most photographed — and most crowded — spots in Paris. At dawn, before opening hours, the Cour Napoléon belongs almost entirely to the light bouncing off I. M. Pei's glass and the pale stone of the palace walls, nearly empty of any other visitor.

Jardin des Tuileries, Paris

1st arrondissement

Jardin des Tuileries

The Tuileries gardens have hosted Parisian courtship for four centuries, and the gravel paths beside the old carousel remain one of the city's most storied settings. Unlike our more private locations, this one comfortably welcomes a small circle of guests, with the option of a live string quartet if you'd like the moment underscored.

Above Paris, Paris

Château de Versailles or Paris outskirts

Above Paris

For a proposal that genuinely leaves the ground, a private hot air balloon flight lifts you above the rooftops of Paris or the grounds of the Château de Versailles. There are few vantage points as vast, or as quiet — just the horizon, the two of you, and the sound of the burner falling silent when the moment comes.

Central Paris, Paris

Boutique hotels, central Paris

Central Paris

Some proposals deserve a full evening rather than a single hour. Pairing a rooftop reveal at sunset with a night in one of Paris’ most beautifully appointed boutique suites lets the moment open into something longer — a room already dressed for the occasion, and the rest of the city still ahead of you.
